ITINERARY

• You’ll be picked up to start the day with a beautiful scenic drive to the historical Gympie Station for your one-way journey on the Mary Valley Rattler classic steam locomotive. You will have time to explore the historical station and its museum, get a close look at the classic steam engine, buy a souvenir, and grab a drink from the station cafe if you wish.
• All aboard!! You will then depart on your train for a one-way, one-hour experience on the Mary Valley Rattler classic steam locomotive to the historical Amamoor station. Here you will have time to appreciate this small country town and watch the steam engine get turned around on a historical turntable.
• Next we take a nice country drive to a picturesque little town called Imbil, previously nominated as one of Queensland’s top tiny tourist towns. Here we’ll explore the corners of this pretty little town, including the town lookout with a panoramic views of the Mary Valley.
• We then continue our scenic country drive to the heart of the Mary Valley, Kenilworth, where you will be treated to a delicious lunch and drink of your choosing. Don’t eat too much for lunch, because you will want to save room for the delicious donuts, chocolates and cheeses on offer in the main street of Kenilworth, that you will have free time to explore after lunch.
• Your final experience on this tour will be a 1.2km guided fig tree walk through giant figs and a forest alive with birdsongs. This walk is paved and flat and optional. Alternatively, guest who don't feel comfortable doing this walk can enjoy the creekside park nearby the conjunction of the creek and the Mary River.
• We will then complete our journey with another country drive towards the coast to drop you at your accommodation by no later than 4:45pm, in time for sunset and dinner.

• We will continue our country drive through the scenic Kin Kin ranges to the historic Pomona for a gourmet lunch made with local produce at the local’s favourite restaurant. • Your day will begin with a visit to Noosa's very own organic marketplace specialising in organic food and wellness. Here you will have time explore this wonderful location and grab a coffee from the in-house coffee roasters if you choose.
• We’ll then go and see one of the hidden lakes of the Noosa Everglades system with beautiful views over the lake and an array of birdlife. 
• After a very short drive we will explore some interesting features of the creek that winds its way through Noosaville and Noosa Heads, including a walk over Noosa’s most historical footbridge.
• Next we head to a lookout with panoramic views of this paradise we call Noosa, overlooking Noosa's villages, beaches, river, and hinterland.
• As it’s time for lunch, we will take you to a restaurant in Sunshine Beach with some of the best ocean views on the coast. Your lunch and drink are included. Time permitting, you may have a little time to explore this village too.
• Next we will reveal Noosaville’s hidden hub for you to explore. This hub has something for everyone from Noosa’s own chocolate factory to Noosa’s own breweries, gin distillery and everything else in between, including iconic surf stores, photographer’s gallery, famous antique store and more. 
• Next stop is Tewantin where you will be guided through Noosa’s historical centre along the river towards the Noosa Marina where we admire an art exhibit at the Noosa Regional Gallery on the way.

• Next, a ridgeline drive will take us to a panoramic lookout with views of the entire Sunshine Coast coastline, from Noosa to Caloundra and as far as Moreton Island on a clear day.
• We then journey further along the ridgeline to the Maleny region where we will take you on a guided nature walk through a mesmerising remnant old-growth rainforest with giant native trees, many singing birds, pademelons (wallabies) and more. This walk is 1.2km and relatively flat. For those who don't feel comfortable doing this walk, you can joyfully spend your time at the entrance, where there is a discovery centre and cafe with views of the Glass House Mountains.
• Following our nature walk we take a short drive to another panoramic lookout where you will experience one of the most stunning and photographed views in Australia, with unimpeded views of the picturesque Glass House Mountains.
• We now indulge is some of the finest artisan Belgian chocolates in the region with a chocolate tasting included at Maleny's favourite chocolate factory from Monday to Saturday and with Montville's favourite chocolate makers on Sunday.
• A drive through the Maleny village and back along the ridgeline will get us to our last stop, where you can reflect on this amazing day as you participate in a mountain top wine tasting with ocean views at the local’s favourite winery and vineyard.

Itinerary

• You will be picked up between 7:30-8:30am for a beautiful country drive to our first stop for a visit to the very popular Cooloola Berries between May and September OR another popular coffee stop between October and April, for the opportunity to purchase their fresh farm produce or grab yourself a tea or coffee
• The next leg of out journey will get us to a clear sand filtered fresh water creek in the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park where you can freshen up and possibly see some of the creek's local residents such as the large long-finned eel  
• A short drive will take us through the Rainbow Beach township to the ever-growing Carlo Sandblow on its outskirts, part of the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park. Here you will be taken on a guided nature walk onto Carlo Sandblow to explore this amazing natural landscape that offers incredible views of the distant coloured sands, Double Island Point and K'Gari (Fraser Island).
  
• All this exploring will have built up an appetite, so it's a good time to have some lunch, and there is no better place to eat than at the local beachside restaurant where you will eat your included lunch overlooking the beautiful Rainbow Beach and Wide Bay with views of the distant coloured sands and Double Island Point.
• Once you've eaten lunch you will have enough free time to explore Rainbow Beach shopping strip, its beautiful patrolled beach, where you can cool off between the flags if you wish
• A trip to Rainbow Beach wouldn't be complete without a closer look at K'Gari (Fraser Island). You will be taken to the nearest mainland point to the island, where you can look across the channel to K'Gari and do a little nature walk too
• With a reasonable journey home, we break it up with a visit to a craft brewery and farm on the way where you can reminisce over a refreshing drink and maybe some live music on weekends
• We will finish the day with another lovely country drive to drop you at your accommodation between 5-6pm, in time for dinner.

• Our day begins with a nice country drive. The start of this tour may be shared with guests going to Australia Zoo, where we will drop them off on the way. So you will get to see what Australia Zoo look like on the outside.
• We then make our way to the biggest of the Glass House Mountains, Mt Beerwah, where we will wind our way on the bus through various other Glass House Mountains to get there with amazing views.
• You will be guided on a short walk into the Glass House Mountains National Park to a striking viewing area of Mt Beerwah, the biggest of all the Glass House Mountains.
• Another scenic drive through forest and farms will offer us incredible views of Mt Coonowrin and Mt Beerwah, then land us at a lookout with a historic fire tower and views of all 14 peaks of the Glass House Mountains and beyond. 
• A delicious lunch with a drink is included on this tour at a wonderful lookout cafe with a beautiful landscape view. Here you also have an opportunity to buy a souvenir if you wish.
• After lunch we head back into the Glass House Mountains National Park to the best viewing location of Mt Tibrogargan and another little mountain we'll keep as a surprise.
• Just as you thought you had see it all, we will go on yet another scenic drive between more of the Glass House Mountains towards the town called Glass House Mountains where you can explore the visitor centre and maybe buy a souvenir or some local relish.
• Next we visit an ancient cultural site, with evidence of activities from long ago by the local aboriginal and the early settlers.
• A scenic drive will land us in the most picturesque part of Maleny with some of the best views of the Glass House Mountains and we take you on a guided walk through ancient old-growth forest with giant trees and plenty of wildlife.
• We will then make our way back down the mountain, with a quick stop at Australia Zoo pick up guests who booked our Glass House Mountains and Australia Zoo Combo.

Experienced Tour Guide

Our Australia Zoo-Glass House Mountains Tour Combo is an amazing opportunity to experience two of Sunshine Coast's must see destinations in the one trip.

We start this combo in the Glass House Mountains Tour, where you will be in awe as we wind our way through this magnificent and unique landscape. You will have the best of both worlds with our experienced local guide taking you to the best viewing locations of the Glass House Mountains from near and afar, including a small nature walk into the Glass House Mountains National Park to get a closer view at the biggest and tallest peak. A delicious dine-in lunch and drink at a lookout cafe in the Glass House Mountains is also included on this tour.

You will then be dropped at Australia Zoo in time to see the famous Wildlife Warriors show that includes many Australian animals and the crocodile feeding. Your entry ticket  to Australia Zoo is included and you will have 3.5 hours to explore this wonderful zoo. 

To further compliment this tour, we provide you with an experienced local guide and door to door pick-ups in a luxury vehicle with reclining seats and a USB port for each seat to charge your phones and cameras along the way.

ITINERARY

• Our day begins with a nice country drive. The start of this tour may be shared with guests going to Australia Zoo, where we will drop them off on the way. So you will get to see what Australia Zoo look like on the outside.
• We then make our way to the biggest of the Glass House Mountains, Mt Beerwah, where we will wind our way on the bus through various other Glass House Mountains to get there with amazing views.
• You will be guided on a short walk into the Glass House Mountains National Park to a striking viewing area of Mt Beerwah, the biggest of all the Glass House Mountains.
• Next you'll see the many faces of Mt Coonowrin as you see it from different angles, with a stop at the best viewing location.
• Another scenic drive through forest and farms will land us at a lookout with a historic fire tower and views of all 14 peaks of the Glass House Mountains and beyond. 
• A delicious lunch with a drink is included on this tour at a wonderful lookout cafe with a beautiful landscape view. Here you also have an opportunity to buy a souvenir if you wish.
• After lunch we head back into the Glass House Mountains National Park to the best viewing location of Mt Tibrogargan and another little mountain we'll keep as a surprise.
• Just as you thought you had see it all, we will go on yet another scenic drive between more of the Glass House Mountains towards the town called Glass House Mountains for one last stop.
• We will then make our way to Australia Zoo and have you there in time for the Wildlife Warriors show and 4 hours to explore the zoo. Your entry ticket is included in this tour.
• You will be picked up at 4:30pm and return you to your accommodation no later than approximately 5:30pm.

Pick-up details

Joel’s Journeys will pick-up and drop-off customers at their home or accommodation in Tewantin, Noosaville, Noosa Heads, Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach, Castaways Beach, Marcus Beach, Peregian Beach, Coolum Beach, Marcoola, and Twin Waters. Please ensure you provide your pick-up address when you make the booking and make sure you are ready at your pick up address 10 minutes before your allocated pick up time.

Minimum Passenger Requirement
This tour requires a minimum of 4 adults booked for the service to operate. We reserve the right to not operate this tour if we don't reach this minimum requirement. This minimum includes guests on the bus who have booked to go to Australia Zoo only.

Passenger Loads of 12 or more guests

Passenger loads of 12 or more guests are subject to the availability of a larger bus. Please provide us with as much notice as possible for group bookings of 12 to 24 guests.
